New York Salary Threshold Increase

Legal Alert: New York Adopts Increased Minimum Salary Thresholds for Employees Classified as “Executive” and “Administrative” ​​​​
Effective January 1, 2024

As previously discussed here, the New York Department of Labor proposed an increase in the minimum salary threshold for those employees classified as “executive” and “administrative.” On December 27, 2023, the proposed increases were adopted.

Effective January 1, 2024, the new salary thresholds for the “executive” and “administrative” exemptions are:

In New York City, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk Counties In the Remainder of New York State Counties
2024 $1,200.00/week
2025 $1,237.50/week
2026 $1,275.00/week
