For Johnson & Johnson, Healthier Communities Means Empowered Nonprofits
The legal team at Johnson & Johnson supports the company’s credo by being an active and integral part of the Pro Bono Partnership volunteer community. Since 2001, the J&J legal department has completed 95 matters for 75 Pro Bono Partnership nonprofit clients. Their dedication to pro bono work is what makes our mission possible.
Vincent Serrao, Assistant General Counsel, and Dana Deinstadt, Patent Paralegal, have been particularly active Johnson & Johnson volunteers, providing much needed intellectual property counseling and advice to many of the Partnership’s nonprofit clients. One such client, Caregiver Volunteer of Central Jersey – A Faith in Action Program, Inc. (CVCJ), which provides volunteers to assist the elderly and homebound with simple daily tasks so that they are able to remain in their home, has received Vince and Dana’s assistance on several different projects ranging from licensing matters to confidentiality agreements. Vince and Dana’s willingness to assist CVCJ on multiple projects has been of tremendous value to the client and vital to its ability to further its mission.
Harman Grossman, Assistant General Counsel, is another dedicated Johnson & Johnson volunteer. Pro Bono Partnership recently reconnected Harman to an organization that he had previously assisted – Prevent Child Abuse – New Jersey Chapter, Inc., a nonprofit that works to prevent child abuse in all its forms. The client was thrilled with Harman’s assistance in drafting a Memorandum of Understanding for its new diaper donation program, which has allowed them to successfully distribute 20,000 diapers so far this year to families in need throughout New Jersey.
Pro Bono Partnership and our clients are lucky to have committed volunteers from Johnson & Johnson and hundreds of other companies and firms, who feel truly connected to the organizations that they help.
The Partnership and our clients are very grateful for the hard work and dedication of the following Johnson & Johnson volunteers, and everyone else at the company who supported their efforts:
